Will I have my own trainer?

Yes, you will be allocated a dedicated Trainer who will support and guide you throughout your apprenticeship journey. This will be the same Trainer who completes your initial assessment, helping to build a positive and supportive working relationship from the very beginning.

Your Trainer will provide regular, planned training and assessment sessions to help you develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for your apprenticeship. They will also support you in building your portfolio of evidence, monitoring your progress and preparing you for your End-Point Assessment (EPA).

Our aim is to ensure you feel supported, confident and motivated every step of the way, helping you successfully achieve your apprenticeship and progress in your chosen career.

Is all training carried out in the work place?

Yes, absolutely! Your apprenticeship training will take place alongside your normal working duties, allowing you to earn while you learn.

Your dedicated Trainer will provide planned training, guidance and assessments within your workplace and/or through online learning sessions, making your apprenticeship flexible and convenient.

You will have the opportunity to put your new knowledge and skills into practice in your everyday role, helping you build confidence and develop professionally.

At Davidson Training UK Ltd, we work closely with you and your employer to ensure your training fits around your working environment, whilst providing the support you need to succeed.

Do I have to do homework?

Not exactly homework! However, as part of your apprenticeship, you will be expected to complete some assignments, reflective accounts and personal statements, as well as gather evidence from your everyday work activities to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours you are developing.

Don't worry – you won't be left to do this alone! Your dedicated Trainer will provide guidance and support throughout your apprenticeship, helping you understand what is required and how to build your portfolio of evidence.

Everything will be explained in more detail when you meet your Trainer, so you'll know exactly what to expect.

Remember, your apprenticeship is all about learning, developing and putting your new skills into practice – and we're here to support you every step of the way!

What if I decide to change my job/employer?

Don't worry! Changing jobs doesn't necessarily mean you have to stop your apprenticeship.

Your apprenticeship achievements and the progress you have made belong to you, and you may be able to continue your training with a new employer, provided your new job role is suitable for the apprenticeship you are completing.

If your new role is significantly different, we will discuss your options with you. This may include transferring to a more suitable apprenticeship programme or, if we do not offer the appropriate training, helping you find another training provider.

Any changes will be discussed and agreed with you and your new employer, subject to eligibility and funding requirements.

Are there any penalties for not completing?

No, however, if you do not complete your apprenticeship, you will not receive your official Apprenticeship Completion Certificate. This is a nationally recognised achievement that demonstrates your knowledge, skills and behaviours and can help enhance your future career prospects and progression opportunities.

I have a degree, can a university graduate do an apprenticeship?

Since May 2017, graduates have been eligible to undertake an apprenticeship, providing an excellent opportunity to develop new skills, gain practical workplace experience and progress in their chosen career. Having a degree does not prevent you from starting an apprenticeship, provided the programme offers new knowledge, skills and behaviours that build upon your existing qualifications and experience.

Do I get paid?

How much will I get paid as an apprentice?

The current National Minimum Wage for apprentices is £8.00 per hour (from 1 April 2026).

This rate applies to apprentices who are:

Under 19 years of age.
Aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship.

If you are aged 19 or over and have completed the first year of your apprenticeship, you are entitled to receive at least the National Minimum Wage applicable to your age group.

At Davidson Training UK Ltd, we actively encourage employers to pay above the minimum wage wherever possible, recognising the valuable contribution apprentices make to their organisations.

I already have a job, can I still do an apprenticeship?

Yes, absolutely! If you are already employed, you can still become an apprentice, provided your employer agrees and you meet the eligibility requirements.

An apprenticeship is not just for people starting a new job. It is also a fantastic opportunity for existing employees to develop new skills, gain a nationally recognised qualification and progress within their current organisation.

At Davidson Training UK Ltd, we can work with you and your employer to identify the most suitable apprenticeship programme for your job role and career aspirations.

Do I have to pay anything to be an apprentice?

No, absolutely not! As an apprentice, you will not have to pay for your apprenticeship training or assessment.

In fact, you will earn while you learn! Your employer will pay you a salary while you work towards your apprenticeship and support you throughout your training.

Your apprenticeship training is funded through government funding and, where applicable, an employer contribution, meaning you can gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience without paying any training fees yourself.

What are my rights as an apprentice?

Yes, absolutely! As an apprentice, you are entitled to the same employment rights as other employees within your organisation.

These include paid annual leave, rest breaks, sick pay (where eligible), a safe working environment and protection against discrimination.

You are also entitled to receive at least the applicable National Minimum Wage and to have time during your normal working hours to complete your apprenticeship training.

Once you have applied, you will go through our initial selection process, where we will review your application and assess your suitability for the role.

If you meet the employer's requirements, you may be invited to attend an interview with them. If your interview is successful, the employer may offer you an apprenticeship position.
